Fireworks, Trader Joes and Book Trailers

Did anyone else hear the fireworks last night? It was loud enough to make my dog nervous. The boom boom in the distance at 11pm prompted me to get out of bed where I was reading a cozy mystery and go to my bathroom window that has the best view in the house. I can see the Space Needle waaaay off in the distance and the pyrotechnic show was coming from that direction. Of course the booms were a second or two behind the visual display, sound traveling slower and all that but I wondered what was the big deal in town last night. It went on for a while and must’ve been about $100,000 worth of gun powder and fuses.

Trader Joes is on its way to Sammamish Highlands I hear and most of my friends are very excited about this. No one mentions this without saying how sorry we were to see Ace Hardware and all the nice folks move out. Dang. BUT, Trader Joes has awesome deals and fantastic food. My favorites at the Redmond store are $4 bottles of wine. (I’m not a connoisseur and am not even sure how to spell that word, can you tell?), their frozen mushroom and emmental cheese pizza, frozen desserts, edamame, meatless lasagna and buffalo burgers. What’re your favorites?

I made a book trailer to go with my Best Selling novel THE DREAM JUMPER’S PROMISE and I’m thrilled with my efforts! I’m not very computer savvy and after putting this off for about a year I noticed that another suspense writer made a simple, tasteful book trailer (photographic stills with music to depict the book’s theme) and was doing very well. I asked him how, and after about 27 hours, I had a reasonably okay ad for my book. Check it out.
