Andrew Bernard Rekdahl, 30, of Carnation, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, after a long battle with cancer. The King County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed this morning that Rekdahl died of natural causes.

Rekdahl, once a well-liked science teacher at Eastside Catholic, had battled intestinal cancer, and students held fundraisers in 2011 to raise money for his treatment.
Former students took to social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook Wednesday to express their grief at his death.
