2 states passed labeling for GMOs. 28 other states also working on it.

Two states have ALREADY passed labeling laws, but Maine and Connecticut will not enforce their labeling laws until a few other states join them in requiring labeling of GMO foods.

Labeling laws are working their way through legislatures in 28 other states.  The California vote last year was very close.  Washington can lead the way in honoring what a vast majority of U.S. citizens say they want..... clear labeling for GMOs.

I want my freedom to choose to avoid GMO foods because I do not want to be a guinea pig for inadequately-tested GMOs.

Research studies by chemical companies have generally lasted 90 days, because it is well known that harmful effects only start showing up AFTER that point.  Patented GMO seeds are rarely available for independent scientists to even conduct safety tests on them. Chemical companies demand complete control over research reports when they do agree to independent scientific research.  WHY???  What do they want to hide?

Veterinarians find ulcers and extensive inflammation in the stomachs and digestive tract of animals fed GMO feed.  Given a CHOICE, animals avoid GMO feed and go to the non-GMO feed.

Labels are revised continuously, so it's easy for manufacturers to provide us with accurate information.  Chemical companies are paying for enormous $ for ads.  They want to sell more chemicals needed to kill superweeds their GMOs are creating.  Crop yields are NO better with GMOs, sometimes even worse than conventional yields.

Soil conditions are severely damaged after a short time with GMO seeds & the chemicals needed to protect them. 1/2 of GMO corn & soy are used for vehicle fuels, NOT for feeding hungry people.  Much of the rest is fed to animals, which poor people cannot afford to eat.

64 other countries require GMO labeling.  Why not the U.S. ?  Do chemical companies control so many politicians with donations and buy so much false & misleading advertising that they can rob us of our right to know and to choose what we want to put in our bodies and to feed our children ?? !!

Please vote YES on I-522.  It's time for truth to be told in the food industry.  Supporters for a yes vote are NOT profit-motivated !  We care about health and the future of our soil and environment.
