Celebrate Recovery welcomes guest speaker Linda Reed, a local therapist, on Monday, May 19, 7-9 p.m. at Pine Lake Covenant Church. Reed will be speaking on “Wholehearted Living: How to Show Up, Be Seen and Live Brave.” The meeting is open to the public. No childcare provided. Attendees requested to be at least 16 years of age.
Her presentation is based on the research by Dr. Brené Brown, author of New York Times bestsellers, Daring Greatly: How the Courage to be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead and The Gifts of Imperfection. Dr. Brown’s TED (Technology Entertainment & Design) talk on “The Power of Vulnerability” is one of the top viewed TED talks with over 15 million hits. Her research is groundbreaking in the areas of vulnerability and shame and has been featured on PBS, NPR, CNN, "The Katie Show” and Oprah Winfrey’s "Super Soul Sunday."
Reed is a licensed mental health counselor and certified professional coach in the greater Seattle area. She holds a master’s degree from Bastyr University and certifications from The American College of Addictionology, and Grow Training Institute, Inc. She has 12-step experience, leads life skills classes and teaches communication skills and conflict resolution.
