Alcohol Possibly a Factor in Lake Washington Drowning

The body of a 26-year-old man was recovered Saturday night after he was first reported missing in the afternoon during Seafair.

The body of a 26-year-old man was recovered Saturday night after he was reported missing earlier in the afternoon during the Seafair celebration, and officials say alcohol may have been a factor in the fatality, according to Q13 Fox News.

Rescuers responded to the 5000 block of Lake Washington Blvd. S shortly before 5 p.m. for a report he had fallen into the water, hit his head and had not resurfaced.

Divers from Mercer Island, Seattle, King County and Fish and Wildlife assisted in the search which later in the evening became a recovery mission, said KIRO-TV.

His body was found late Saturday night.

The Lake Washington incident was one of two water-related responses made by emergency personnel Saturday. A 49-year-old man was pulled from South Lake Union Saturday afternoon and remained in critical condition after he jumped into the lake and didn't resurface, according to The Seattle Times.
