Arrest Made in Mirrormont Home Arson Investigation

A Bellevue man was arrested in connection with two arson attacks this spring on a home on Issaquah Hobart Road.

Authorities say an arrest was made last week in connection with two arson attacks on a Mirrormont home this March and April.

The King County Sheriff's Office identified Kamran Monghate, 51, of Bellevue as the man believed responsible for twice setting fire to the same home on the 15900 block of 252 Ave SE on March 18 and April 8.

Detectives said the suspect is known to the victims and it is believed their house was specifically targeted.

Monghate is currently custody and has been charged with first and second degree arson. His bail has been set at $500,000.

Investigators from the King County Fire Investigation Unit said on April 7 that they believed the second fire was started near the home's attached garage and spread into the home, causing severe damage to the interior and structure of the house. Damages were estimated at $90,000.

Neighbors first noticed flames and smoke coming from the house and notified police.Β
