DUI Mock Car Crash Program Coming to Issaquah and Eastlake High School

Eastside Fire and Rescue will be conducting a mock DUI car crash scenario at local high schools this May as part of a program focusing on encouraging teenagers to make the right choice before they get behind the wheel of a vehicle.

The mock car crash scene, called “Choices”, will take place at the following high school locations:

  • May 16 – 9:45 a.m.                          Issaquah High School
  • May 31 – 9:45 a.m.                          Eastlake High School
Eastside Fire & Rescue, in conjunction with Bellevue Medic One, Issaquah and Sammamish Police Departments, and students from each of the high schools, will be performing a realistic portrayal of an alcohol-related car crash and the likely response of emergency crews.  Parts of the mock crash will be graphic in nature due to the realistic portrayal of the traumatic impact on the human body when involved in such an incident.

The mock crash will also focus on seatbelt use, reckless driving, texting and driving, and the choices made by young adolescents today.
