Eastside Fire & Rescue Receives Recognition for Exemplary State Audit History

Eastside Fire & Rescue recognized for having no audit findings since its creation in 1999.

The following information was provided by Eastside Fire & Rescue:

Eastside Fire & Rescue has once again passed the required annual State audit with thoroughly successful results. The Agency has once again received word of an exemplary record of no audit findings. These accomplishments are a direct reflection of the management and staff dedication to strong oversight of operations, good internal controls, and accurate financial reporting according to the State Auditor’s Office.

The Agency received official recognition from the State Auditor for having an exemplary record of no audit findings since its inception in 1999. The proactive approach and constructive responses to audit issues has helped in arriving at practical solutions and views the Agency as a model for other entities in the state.

“I am proud of the work done primarily by the people who are assigned to the Finance Division, but the recognition certainly extends to all who are responsible for spending dollars, managing assets, and following the Board policies,” said Fire Chief Lee Soptich.

The Auditor’s Office regularly audits state agencies, boards and commissions, and local governments each year ranging from the largest counties to the smallest special purpose districts.
