Eastside Fire & Rescue Responds to Thanksgiving Blaze in North Bend

Two injured and twenty families were displaced by the fire last night at the Mt. Si apartment complex

Firefighters with Eastside Fire & Rescue were called to a multi-family structure fire at the Mt. Si Court Apartments located at the 400 block of North Bend Way in North Bend at approximately 8 pm on Thanksgiving Day. The occupants of the apartment unit came home to find smoke and flames coming from the unit as they opened their front door and quickly called 911 for assistance.

When fire crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke and flames were coming from at least three floors of the complex, and several people had already evacuated the building. Additional fire resources were called in from neighboring fire departments: Snoqualmie Fire, Fall City Fire and Bellevue Fire.

Approximately 45-50 firefighters and other emergency personnel were called to fight the fire and to assist the occupants of the apartment complex. A 38-year-old woman who collapsed in the parking lot of the apartments had to be resuscitated and transported to the hospital by Bellevue Medic 14. An officer with the King County Sheriff’s Office also suffered smoke inhalation and was later transported by Bellevue Medic 2 for further evaluation.
