Update: Eastlake HS Student Arrest in Sammamish BB Gun Incident

KOMO News says at least two families with children in their vehicles were hit on Sunday afternoon.

Update, 3:20 p.m. June 4: Sammamish Police have arrested an 18-year-old Eastlake High School student in connection to a BB gun incident that took place over the weekend.
Sgt. Jessica Sullivan told Patch the teen was taken into custody at the high school at around noon on Tuesday. He is being held at the Issaquah Jail on suspicion of reckless endangerment and is expected to have a bail-setting hearing on Wednesday, she said.
Sammamish-Issaquah Patch typically does not name suspects who have yet to be formally charged with a crime, and Sammamish Police are not releasing the student's name at this time.

Two drivers reported being fired at by a BB gun while driving along Sahalee Way in Sammamish on Sunday afternoon. Both drivers were traveling with young children, but no one was injured in either incident.
Sullivan said police identified the suspect after canvassing the neighborhood where one of the victims reported the shots came from. The teen was staying as a guest at one of the houses in the area at the time of the incident and lives elsewhere in Sammamish, she said.
Police believe he acted alone and are not looking for any additional suspects, Sullivan said.

Original post, June 3:
Sammamish Police are investigating after at least two drivers reported being struck with BB guns on Sahalee Way over the weekend.

As KOMO News reports, both incidents took place Sunday afternoon around lunchtime. Tracey Kerlee told the TV station she was driving her son to football practice when a BB came in through a rear passenger window and ricocheted off the inside of her car before hitting her husband in the knee.

The second driver was traveling with his newborn and 5-year-old daughters in the backseat when a BB shattered the driver's side window of his SUV, according to the KOMO report. No one was hurt in either incident.

Sammamish-Issaquah Patch is attempting to learn more information from Sammamish Police and will post any updates as we receive them. Kerlee posted a note on our Facebook page indicating her vehicle was shot at near the Heritage Hills neighborhood.

Police told KOMO the case is under investigation.
