Foreclosed Beaver Lake Park Home Raided by Burglars

The following information from May 21-June 1 was supplied by the Sammamish Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Sammamish police are investigating reports of burglars breaking into a repossessed home for sale in the Beaver Lake area and making off with a stove.

The burglary occurred at a home on the on the 2200 block of 244 Ave. SE at 11:50 a.m. by prying open a set of french doors on the rear of the house and stole a kitchen range from inside, valued at $600.

Tire tracks in the grass indicate the suspects drove a vehicle around to the back of the house and loaded it with the stolen goods. A house cleaner employed by the real estate agent reported the burglary.

Grandfather Accuses Grandson of ID Theft
An 88-year-old resident of a home on the 21800 block of NE 30th Place accused his grandson who lived with him of using his personal information and his credit card to purchase an extended warranty for a Dell laptop computer without his permission. The grandson claimed that his grandfather got on the phone with Dell and personally authorized the charges. Police requested the company provide more information on who authorized the charges.

Mysterious Garage Door Frightens Homeowner, Reveals Theft

A 43-year-old resident of a home on the 2000 block of 277th ave. SE called police at 8:15 a.m. after she heard her garage door open twice without her pressing any buttons on her opener. Police later discovered that the garage door opener she usually kept in her Volkswagen Beetle was missing, and advised the woman to change the code for the automatic garage door opener.

Suspicious Car Crash in Bordeaux Condos
A 65-year-old resident of a home on the 700 block of 240th Way SE claimed an unknown person had entered her light blue Chevrolet Cruze sometime between 7-7:25 p.m. and crashed it into a carport pole in the apartment complex parking lot. The woman swears that she locked it and has the only key to the vehicle, and that there were no signs of forced entry.

Woman Claims Text Messages Urge Her to Kill Self
A 59-year-old woman claiming to have a former career in military intelligence said that unknown persons are stalking her and harrassing her with disturbing texts and interfering with her phone. She recently received a text with the image of a gun and asked, "Why don't you just kill yourself?" but somehow the image deleted itself from her phone. The police officer told her that without physical evidence, he was unable to do much beyond documenting the contact. The resident also told police her doctor recently advised she see a counselor and file a police report. The woman, a resident of a home on the 4300 block of Issaquah Pine Lake Road, said she is a disabled veteran for mental health reasons.

'Aggressive' Solicitor Asked to Leave Sammamish Neighborhood
A 22-year-old door-to-door resident was contacted by police at around 4 p.m. near the intersection of NE 16th Street and 212th Ave. NE after a resident complained about his "aggressive" behavior. The salesman showed the officer an "interstate Soliciotors Permit", with wording that stated the US Supreme Court had ruled several times that local governments requiring local solicitor permits was illegal. The officer advised the man that he was required to have such a permit in Sammamish and issued him a verbal warning.

Spurned Ex-Boyfriend Alleges Assault as Woman Tries to Move Out
A 35-year-old resident of an apartment on the 700 block of 241st Lane SE claimed his live-in girlfriend, who he said was his "wife", had slapped him across the face in a late-night argument as she and another man tried to pack her belongings and move out of their apartment, which she leased with the ex-boyfriend as co-singers. The 34-year-old woman, who had started dating the other man in the past month, denied it. Police found no physical evidence of an assault at 12:50 a.m. and gave the woman and her new boyfriend a lift to Safeway in Sammamish, where they could pick up a cab.

Cocaine Found on Ground in Eagle Ridge Neighborhood
A 78-year-old woman out for a walk at 9:30 a.m. discovered two small baggies on the ground containing what she suspected were drugs. She found one bag on the 20300 block of SE 40th Street between two cars and the other in the roadway in the same general location. The woman told police she suspected the drugs were left there after a loud party took place at a rental home at the same location last night. The substance later tested positive for cocaine.

Backpack, Clothes Dumped on Front Porch
The resident of a home contacted police after he found a backpack filled with used clothes and a toothbrush sitting on his front porch on the 22200 block of SE 4th Street at 11:45 a.m.

Harassing Aunt Trespassed From SE 41st Court Home
Relatives of an aunt of a 23-year-old resident requested a trespassing notice for the 52-year-old King County woman after she continually showed up at a family home on the 22800 block of SE 41st Court and harassed her and her parents. Police later located the aunt in the driveway of the home at 3:04 p.m. and issued her a trespassing notice and asked her to leave the premises, which she did immediately.
