Issaquah Police Invite Public to Citizens Police Academy

Go behind the scenes with the Issaquah Police Department!

This fall, police are launching a free 10-week Citizens’ Police Academy for adults (21 and older) who either live or work in Issaquah. Each course will be taught by trained Issaquah police officers.

Along with hands-on demonstrations, these interactive courses will cover:
• The art of an investigation
• How investigators handle crime scenes
• Stories from our patrol unit
• Partnerships with our local schools
• Issaquah’s 911 dispatch center and jail
• Criminal law
• Tactics officers use when dealing with people
• Officer safety

The academy will be held from 6-9 p.m. every Wednesday from Sept. 4-Nov. 6, 2013, at City Hall, 130 E. Sunset Way.

All applicants must have no prior felony convictions, and pass a criminal background check. Apply here for an online form.
