Issaquah Police Nab Prolific Burglar

A SeaTac woman was arrested for a burglary and subsequently police recovered stolen property from her car, linking her to several other area burglaries.

On Wednesday, Aug. 1, the Issaquah Police Department arrested a 45-year-old SeaTac woman  for investigation of a burglary that occurred in Issaquah’s Sycamore neighborhood in early July. The arrest came after weeks of investigation and positive identification by alert citizens.

Issaquah Police Detectives then served a search warrant on the suspect’s vehicleon Thursday, and recovered a significant amounty of stolen property, which has already been linked to several burglaries within Issaquah and surrounding communities. 

The woman  was booked into the King County Jail on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and trafficking in stolen property. The case remains open and under investigation by the Issaquah Police Department.

Crime Prevention Tips from the Issaquah Police Department:  It is important for homeowners and neighbors to take steps to protect and help prevent their home, or their neighbors’ homes, from falling victim to a burglary.

  •  If you see someone suspicious in your neighborhood, call the police.
  • Attempt to get a good description of the suspicious person, direction of travel and any associated vehicles (including license plates).
  • Tell neighbors you trust if you plan to be away or expect any deliveries.
  • If you do not know the person knocking on your door, talk to them through the closed door so that they know someone is home.
