Local Newlywed Killed in North Carolina Car Crash
Sammamish native Jamie Soukup Reid, 25, was killed Aug. 11 in Asheville, North Carolina.
Sammamish native Jamie Soukup Reid, 25, and husband Will Reid, 26, from Phillipsburg, N.J., died in a car accident on Sunday, Aug. 11 on an Asheville, N.C., highway, according to the Seattle Times.
The Lincoln Town Car in which Will and Jamie Soukup Reid were riding veered out of control, went down a bank and struck a tree.
According to Asheville police, the 45-year-old driver was injured and hospitalized with severe injuries. They have been unable to talk to him. Police are investigating possible charges against him and are waiting for the results of a toxicology test and a report from the carβs digital recording system, which will provide the rate of speed at the time of the crash.

A dual funeral service is planned for Saturday in Phillipsburg, N.J., and at 1 p.m. Aug. 25 there will be a celebration of life for Jamie and Will at the Plateau Club, 25625 E. Plateau Dr., Sammamish.
