Several dozen firefighters from Bellevue are growing their moustaches in Movember, with an aim to raise awareness and funds for men's health, and especially prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.
Firefighters from EF&R, Seattle, Woodinville, Kirkland, Redmond, Shoreline Northshore, Bothell, Duvall, Bellevue, and Mercer Island will all converge starting at 7 p.m. at Paddy Coynes Irish Pub in Seattle, for the Movember 2012 closeout event. The event is open to the public.
The Seattle Firefighters Pipes and Drums bagpipe band will be in the house and awards will be given, including Mr. and Miss Movember.
As posted on the Kirkland Facebook page, "Lot’s of FF’s and Mustaches what’s not to like?"
During November each year, "Movember" is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their "Mo's," these men raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.
In 2011, over 854,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas around the world got on board, raising $126.3 million.
