Nearly 800 King County Drivers Arrested in DUI Campaign
The state's first "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" initiative ran from Nov. 21 to Jan. 1.
The state's first "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" holiday DUI campaign resulted in the arrest of 795 drivers around King County and a total of 3,446 arrests statewide.
The effort ran from Nov. 21, 2012, to Jan. 1, 2013. Last year in King County, regular and extra patrols arrested 960 on suspicion of DUI during that same time period.
The following King County jurisdictions participated in the new campaign: Auburn, Bellevue, Black Diamond, Burien, Clyde Hill, Covington, Des Moines, Duvall, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Issaquah, Kent, Kirkland, Maple Valley, Mercer Island, Newcastle, North Bend, Pacific, Port of Seattle, Redmond, Renton, Sammamish, Seatac, Seattle, Snoqualmie, Tukwila, and Woodinville Police Departments and the Washington State Patrol.
