Pedestrian Struck in E. Lake Sammamish Pkwy Accident

King County Sheriff's Office investigators say they are looking into how the the pedestrian entered the roadway, which may have been intentional.

A pedestrian was struck by a car on an East Lake Sammamish Parkway crosswalk on Saturday night, shutting the road down for hours at 212th Way SE while investigators tried to figure out what happened.

Eastside Fire Capt. John Pelliciotta said a pedestrian stepped into the roadway on the 4200 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway at approximately 6:25 p.m.

King County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. Cindi West said the pedestrian was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. No update on the condition of the victim was available as of noon Sunday.

The car that struck the pedestrian was travelling at an estimated 35 miles per hour.

West said investigators are examining whether the pedestrian intentionally walked in front of the vehicle as it approached.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
