Police Bust Three, Guns and Ammo Recovered After Sammamish Burglary

An assault rifle and a shotgun stolen from a Sammamish home were among the valuables recovered after a SWAT-team led bust in Burien on May 9.

Police recovered stolen property — including an assualt rifle with over 1,000 rounds of ammunition — and arrested three people with alleged gang ties late Thursday evening and early Friday morning in connection with a Sammamish burglary. Sammamish Police detectives, alongside officers from the Burien Police Department and the King County Sheriff’s Office and the KCSO SWAT team, executed a search warrant at a home in the 12200 block of First Ave. SW in Burien and arrested a 20-year-old man with extensive criminal history. Police recovered a shotgun, along with several video cameras and other small electronics that were stolen from a Sammamish home in the 3700 block of 230th Pl. SE on May 8.  The suspect provided information which led detectives to a second house in the 7500 block of 24th Ave. SE in Seattle. Another 20-year-old male, an alleged member of the "Crips" gang, and his 19-year-old girlfriend were arrested at the second location.  Detectives located a missing AR-15 rifle, nearly 1,000 rounds of ammunition and a gun safe at the Seattle home, which had been pried open. Both men have prior felony convictions, meaning they could be charged federally for the firearms found in their possession. The burglary victim's home in Sammamish was equipped with a video surveillance system, which captured images of two suspects loading a gun safe from the house into their getaway vehicle, a blue Ford Expedition. Detectives tracked the vehicle to Burien where they arrested one suspect and served a search warrant on the house and vehicle.  A shotgun, along with several video cameras and other small electronics were recovered from the home.  Sammamish Police spokesperson Sgt. Jessica Sullivan said the suspect lived at the same address as where his vehicle was registered. "It's pretty safe to assume that those firearms would have wound up on the street," said Sullivan. "We're very excited to have recovered this stolen property." Sullivan also said the trio were likely linked to several unsolved burglaries in Bellevue. All three suspects were booked into King County Jail on Friday morning.  Charges including residential burglary, unlawful possession of firearms and possession of stolen property are expected to be filed against all three later this week.
