Sammamish Police Blotter: A man is Arrested Following a Fight With his son, and a Customer Leaves Meth at Local Store

The following information was supplied by the Sammamish Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 26

Larceny: An employee of the Radio Shack located on 228th Avenue Northeast contacted police after an iPod was stolen from the store. The employee reported that two women came into the store and left shortly afterwards. One of the women returned a short time later and asked to be shown an iPod and a Nook e-reader. She then asked for a digital camera. The employee set the iPod and the Nook down on the counter and went into the back to get the camera. When he was in the back he heard the door chime, went back out front and found that the woman was gone and the iPod was missing.

Assault: Police arrested a 41-year-old man after he choked his 19-year-old son during an argument.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman living on Northeast 10th Place contacted police after she received a call from an African-sounding man telling her that she had won a $3.5 million lottery. The man informed her that all she had to do was go to Radio Shack and buy a $200 moneypak for them and then the money would be delivered. The man claimed to be representing the Oprah Winfrey Network and gave a Las Vegas address.

Friday, Feb. 3

Hit and Run: Police were dispatched after a woman claimed her vehicle was hit by a tractor-trailer near Southeast 24th Street and 228th Avenue Southeast. The tractor-trailer fled the scene and the woman was only able to provide a limited description.

Saturday, Feb. 4

Controlled Substance: An employee of the Rite-Aid on the Issaquah-Pine Lake Road contacted police after a customer dropped what appeared to be a baggy containing meth on accident. The employee was able to provide police with video of the customer. Police took the meth into evidence.

Violation of Court Orders: Police arrested a 54-year-old Sammamish man for violating a protection order.

Sunday, Feb. 5

Driving While License Revoked: Police arrested a 26-year-old Sammamish man for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over for speeding (55 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone) near Southeast 36th Lane and the Issaquah-Pine Line Road.

Larceny: A man living on 213th Place Southeast contacted police after he discovered that his unlocked can had been entered overnight and an ashtray containing approximately $10 in change had been stolen. There was also damage to the center console where the tray was removed.

Larceny: A man living on 231st Lane Southeast contacted police after his car was broken into. A $100 GPS unit and miscellaneous CDs were stolen.
