Sammamish Police Blotter: DUIs, Juveniles Caught With Marijuana, an Illegal JC Penney Shopping Spree

Police arrest drivers for DUI, confiscate marijuana for local youths and track down a hit and run driver.

Saturday, April 16

Larceny: A Sammamish man contacted police after hiscar was broken into and a laptop computer was stolen while the car was parked near 205th Avenue Southeast and East Lake Sammamish Parkway.

Sunday, April 17

DUI: Sammamish police took a man into custody for driving under the influence. He was spotted driving erratically near Trossachs Boulevard and Duthie Hill Road. The man failed field sobriety tests and blew a .133 on the Breathalyzer. Police drove the man home and released him.

Monday, April 18

Driving while license revoked: Police arrested a man for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over near Northeast 8th Street and 245th Avenue Northeast for a non-functioning headlight.

Vandalism: An employee at contacted police after it was discovered that two windows at the school had been hit by paintballs. There are no suspects at this time.

Credit car forgery: A Sammamish woman living on 227th Lane Southeast contacted police after she noticed that fraudulent charges totaling $6,137.11 had been made by someone using her JC Penney credit card. The woman still has the card and has no idea how someone acquired her card information.

Tuesday, April 19

Vandalism: A Sammamish man living on 231 Place Northeast contacted police after someone tossed an unknown liquid onto his tractor while it was parked outside overnight. The man suspects a neighbor because the neighbor has previously complained about the tractor.

Wednesday, April 20

Hit and run: A Sammamish man contacted police a day after he had been involved with another man in a traffic accident near Southeast Windsor Boulevard and 244th Avenue Southeast. The man, who reported the incident, said that his car had been hit by a second car while stopped at an intersection. The second man was belligerent and initially refused to share insurance information, then relented and said he would. When the second man returned to his car, presumably to retrieve his insurance information, he drove away. The reporting party was able to provide police with a description of the second man and his license plate number. Police determined that the second man lives in Vancouver, Wash. and discovered that he has a suspended license. The reporting party later identified the man in a photo lineup. The case has been forwarded and charges have been filed.

Thursday, April 21

Marijuana possession: Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Southeast 28th Street and found three subject smoking marijuana in a Chevrolet Suburban, two of them juveniles. Police confiscated marijuana and a smoking pipe, as well as five cans of beer. The vehicle was impounded and will be searched after a warrant has been issued.

Larceny: A Sammamish woman contacted police after her minivan was broken into while she was watching her son play baseball at . The van’s front passenger window was smashed and the woman’s purse was stolen.

Controlled substance: Police confiscated marijuana and a smoking pipe from two juveniles who were parked in Soaring Eagle Park. It was late at night.

Saturday, April 23

DUI: Sammamish police arrested a 26-year-old man for driving under the influence after he was pulled over near Southeast 16th Street and 228th Avenue Southeast for suspicion of driving with a suspended license. The man volunteered for a Breathalyzer test and blew a .143. He was booked into Issaquah Jail and his passenger was driven home.

Larceny: A Sammamish woman contacted police after her 12-year-old daughter lost a smartphone she had left on the hood of a car before going on a run. When her daughter came back 30 minutes later the car and phone were gone.
