Sammamish Police Blotter: Mom Reports Neighbor Films Her Kids, Kids See Man in Their Backyard Taking House Photos, $20K Diamond Ring Goes Missing

Sunday, July 24

Larceny: A couple living on 206th Avenue Southeast contacted police after discovering that the wife’s $20,000 diamond ring and $3,000 watch were missing from a jewelry case in their master bathroom. The master bathroom was undergoing renovation and the husband suspects a subcontractor.

Tuesday, July 26

Larceny: A man living on Southeast 20th Street contacted police after he discovered that motorcycle riding gear and tools had been stolen from a locked trailer on the property. It appeared that the pad lock securing the trailer had been cut.

Vandalism: A woman contacted police after something shattered her rear passenger window as she drove along Southeast Issaquah-Beaver Lake Road, near Shoo Fly Farm. The woman suspected a rock or some other item was thrown at the car.

Mail Theft: A woman living on Northeast 6th Place contacted police after she learned that a Bank of America debit card had been issued to her in 2007. The woman never received the card and suspects it had been stolen in the mail. The card has since been used.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman living on 214th Place Southeast contacted police after two of her young children reported seeing someone in the backyard taking pictures of the inside of their house. Neighbors told the woman that similar incidents had occurred before nearby burglaries.

Wednesday, July 27

Vehicle Prowl: A woman who was housesitting for her father on East Lake Sammamish Parkway contacted police after discovering that his car had been broken into and searched. One of the vehicle’s windows had been smashed but nothing appeared to be missing.

Friday, July 29

Assault: Police arrested a 34-year-old man for Fourth Degree Assault after he pushed and yelled at a woman he was with during a public dispute. A witness saw the couple arguing while drinking and called in the incident and later reported that the man had left the scene in a maroon Dodge. Police later pulled the vehicle over and arrested the man for domestic violence and DUI.

Check Forgery: A woman living on 221st Avenue Northeast contacted police after her bank notified her of possible fraudulent activity. A $1,357 check had been written from the woman’s account though she had never written such a check and even still had the original blank check.

Auto Theft: A woman living at the Boulder Creek Apartment contacted police after discovering that he Chevy Cavalier had been stolen from the parking lot overnight.

Saturday, July 30

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman living on 229th Place Northeast contacted police to report that a neighbor had been periodically standing in his backyard and filming her children during the past several weeks. The woman added that the neighbor often had very little clothing on, sometimes just pants and sometimes just a top. A second neighbor reported being watched and filmed as well.

When police confronted the man, he answered his door wearing only boxer shorts. When police informed the man of the issue he became agitated and said that he could do whatever he wanted on his own property. Police advised the woman to obtain an anti-harassment order.
