Sammamish Police Blotter: Pot, Tequila Found on Eastside Catholic Athlete, Woman Cited for DUI Found With 11-inch Kitchen Knife

Sunday, Aug. 28

Larceny: A Sammamish woman living on East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast contacted police after her 19-foot jet boat was discovered floating in the middle of the lake, possibly after someone had taken it for a joy ride. Scratches were evident on the side of the boat and a cooler and miscellaneous toys were missing from the boat.

Monday, Aug. 29

Controlled Substances: A track coach at  contacted police after he found marijuana and drug paraphernalia on one of his athletes. The coach and the athletic director stated that they would deal with the problem in-house by enrolling the athlete in a drug rehabilitation program through the school and just wanted the drugs to be disposed. Sammamish police were given a gym bag containing a glass water bong, a small smoking pipe, a grinder, a scale, cigarettes, a bottle of tequila and a glass jar containing marijuana.

Fraud: A Sammamish woman living on 226th Place Northeast contacted police after a vendor contacted her to verify a purchase that she had never made. The person using the victim’s card had given the vendor her cell phone number. The woman discovered six fraudulent charges totaling $1,714.44. The card has since been cancelled.

Tuesday, Aug. 30

DUI: Police arrested a 38-year-old Issaquah woman for driving under the influence after she was pulled over for weaving between lanes. When the deputy spoke to her she admitted to having been drinking and consented to a Breathalyzer test and field sobriety tests. The woman blew a .114, failed the field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Police discovered an 11-inch serrated kitchen knife in the woman’s coat. She said she was carrying it for protection and had no intention of using it against the police. The woman was eventually transported to her Issaquah home and released.

Thursday, Sept. 1

Phone Calls, Indecent or Nuisance: A female employee at a store in Sammamish contacted police after she received two sexually-explicit phone calls in the space of an hour. The male caller commented on her breasts and said that he was going to come into the store. The male caller also said that she had seen him before, leading her to believe that he was a customer or employee at another store. The store’s phone wasn’t equipped with caller I.D. and dialing *69 failed to reveal the caller.

Vandalism: A witness contacted police after he saw four juvenile males get out of a silver Audi convertible and repeatedly kick a car in the parking lot. The victim works at the Safeway and has no idea why he would have been targeted. Photos were taken of the damage and multiple footprints were left in the areas that had been dented. One print seemed to match Van’s brand shoes.

Friday, Sept. 2

Vandalism: The principal at contacted police after discovering that someone had damaged the reader board outside the school with a golf ball, punching a 6-inch hole in the board.

Larceny: A Sammamish woman contacted police after she discovered that her bicycle had been stolen from the Safeway parking lot.

Sunday, Sept. 4

Larceny: Residents on East Lake Sammamish Drive South contacted police after speakers and an amplifier were stolen from their boat, which was moored at a private waterfront.
