Sammamish Police Blotter: Resident Comes Face to Face With Possible House Thief, Mom Cuts son With Knife During Drunken Fight and Woman Receives Hundreds of Dollars in Unwanted Flowers

Tuesday, June 21

Larceny: While on patrol at , police were flagged down by a man who wanted to report that his vehicle’s rear passenger window had been broken out while he was parked at . A purse, wallet checkbook and various credit cards belonging to the man’s wife were taken from the car. A nearby witness reported seeing a yellowish or greenish enduro-style motorcycle cruising through the parking lot. The witness reported seeing the same motorcycle in two lots before. The rider was described as being in his 30s, overweight, wearing work-style boots and a brown backpack.

Saturday, June 25

Larceny: A man contacted police after discovering that the passenger side window of his car had been busted out while he was parked near . A backpack was stolen from the car.

Tuesday, June 28

Assault: Sammamish police arrested a 48-year-old woman living on Northeast 5th Place after she cut her 20-year-old son with a knife and burned his hand with a cigarette during a drunken argument. The woman also assaulted a neighbor who attempted to break up the fight. The woman was taken into custody and transported to King County Jail. 

Burglary: A man contacted police after a vacant house of his on 266th Avenue Southeast was burglarized. A real estate agent had contacted the owner to say that a lockbox was missing and that the front door was ajar. The owner went to the house and found that a sub woofer and surround sound system were missing. While he was there waiting for a locksmith, a large black truck pulled up and a woman exited. He informed her that he was the homeowner, at which point she immediately left. The man then called 911, fearing that the woman had come to steal the newly-installed appliances. 

Fraud: A woman living on Northeast 32nd Court contacted police after REI informed her of a $341.58 charge made against her MasterCard. REI was able to provide the woman with the IP address for the computer the charge was made on and the shipping address used for the order. The woman has since closed her account.

Thursday, June 30

Driving While License Revoked: Sammamish police arrested a 33-year-old Issaquah man for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over for speeding (47 mph in a 55 mph zone) one the Issaquah-Pine Lake Road. The man was arrested and later released at the scene.

Suspicious Circumstances: A Sammamish woman contacted police to report that two weeks earlier someone had left approximately $100 worth of flowers for her on her front porch. Then, on June 30, another delivery of approximately $200 in flowers was made. The woman, who says that she does not leave the house often or at regular times, suspects that someone may be watching her and delivering the flowers when she is not home.

Friday, July 1

Vandalism: An employee at contacted police after discovering that someone had driven over a curb and run over a small oak tree in the student parking lot.
