Reminder: Expect Heavy Traffic on 228th Avenue on Friday, Oct. 14

Three football games on Friday night and a parade will result in partial road closures and increased congestion through Sammamish.

With both and hosting homecoming football games on the night of Friday, Oct. 14, and a home game at as well, the wants to make residents aware of partial road closures and increases in traffic during the events.

The northbound lanes of 228th Avenue Southeast will be closed from Southeast 24th to Skyline High School for the school's pregame parade on Friday, which starts at 5:00 pm. The northbound lanes will be closed off and north and south traffic on 228th will be restricted to single lanes starting at 4:30 pm. 

Eastlake High School will be hosting Issaquah High School that nigth as well, which the department believes will result in more people driving through town during rush hour. The Sammamish Police Department is encouraging drivers to use East Lake Sammamish Parkway between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm on Friday to relieve some of the congestion through Sammamish.
