Sammamish Police Launch Facebook Page

The department hopes to keep the public up to date and well-informed with a presence on Facebook.

Following a large number of requests from the public, the has launched its own Facebook page.

“We feel like this is a great way to reach out and connect with the community,” said Sammamish Police Department’s Sgt. Jessica Sullivan.

The department’s page will include information on crime trends, crime prevention tips, answers to law enforcement-related questions, and regular dispatches from Chief Nate Elledge.

“We’ll add content as we go, as we hear feedback from people in terms of what they would like to see,” Sullivan said.

Sergeant Sullivan said that the department may eventually include breaking news items and updates on local emergencies or crimes on their page.

“I think we’re going to see how this goes and see where the demand leads us,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan expects that the page will be updated two or three times a week, perhaps more if it proves to be popular with the public.

“We definitely want to be responsive to what the community needs and what they want,” she said.
