Sammamish Teen Commits Suicide

A 14-year-old Sammamish boy died from self-inflicted wounds Saturday, Aug. 25. Here are some resources for parents to help their children deal with the tragedy and learn signs of depression in youth.

Just more than a week before school begins for local students, a Sammamish teen took his own life.

The King County Medical Examiner ruled the death a suicide, saying that the 14-year-old boy, who died Saturday, Aug. 25,Β  died of asphyxia due to ligature hanging. The Sammamish Police Department is investigating the boy's death, which calls to mind another tragic death of an .
