Two men Attempted to Lure Away Fifth Grader

Discovery elementary student approached by two men after school today.

The following information was provided by the Issaquah School District:

At about 2:40 p.m. today, a fifth-grader was walking home from Discovery Elementary when a truck approached him on Southeast 20th Street just west of 228th Avenue Southeast on the Sammamish Plateau. The two men inside waved to the student, pulled over, and motioned for the student to come closer; when the student walked away, the truck began to follow until the driver saw the student pull out his cell phone to call his mom. The student immediately returned to school and informed staff.

The student describes the vehicle as an off-white landscaping truck with a tool rack with shovels and rakes in the back; he describes the two men inside as about 30 years old, fair skinned/Caucasian, with no facial hair. The passenger was reportedly wearing a plaid shirt. Police ask that if you have any information about this incident, call 206-296-3311 (reference report 12-031933). Please take this opportunity to remind your student of these important safety tips:
