Up to $11,000 in Reward Money Offered for Information on Stolen Wii Consoles
Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering up to $1,000 in cash, and an outside agency is adding up to another $10,000 for information that could help in the recovery of the stolen items.
Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a reward of up to $1,000, and in addition, other interested parties have contributed up to an additional $10,000 in reward money subject to the arrest and charges of the suspects in the theft of more than 7,000 Wii game consoles that were stolen from a distributing warehouse in SeaTac in December.
Employees at Seattle Air Cargo in the 19100 blk of Des Moines Memorial Drive said the theft occurred sometime between 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 and 12 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16. The suspects used forklifts on the premises to load up two 53-foot trailers and a box van with at least 64 pallets of Wii game consoles.
The estimated value of property stolen including the vehicles was over $2 million though the vehicles have since been recovered in Auburn, Fife and California. (Read the initial report about the theft.)
