Edmonds Key Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

The King County Sheriff's Office reports that a man suspected of robbing a Woodinville bank and attempting to rob an Edmonds bank was arrested in Everett Friday, Oct. 26.

A 26-year-old man was arrested today in Everett in connection with a bank robbery at a Woodinville bank and the attempted robbery of an Edmonds bank earlier this month.

On Oct. 22 around 2:30 p.m. the suspect entered the Key Bank in the 9900 block of Edmonds Way in Edmonds. He approached the teller and said he had a gun. The suspect was in the process of committing the robbery when he fled, prior to getting any money.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. the same day the suspect entered the US Bank in the 13200 block of NE 175th St in Woodinville. The suspect scribbled a note on a deposit slip and then presented it to the teller demanding money and claiming to have a gun. He was given money and was seen fleeing in a white Jeep Cherokee.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation between detectives from the King County Sheriff’s Office, Edmonds Police Department and the F.B.I. The investigation led to the identification of the suspect who was arrested at a home in the 2100 block of Wetmore Ave in Everett around 3:30 p.m. today, Oct. 26.

The suspect will be booked into the King County Jail for investigation of first degree robbery and first degree attempted robbery.

It amazes me that people still think robbing a bank will be a sncy. They have so many different methods of tracing the suspect. Maybe it is a cry for help and they just want to be in jail...which is another story in itself.

Diane: Good comments. I think a lot of it is desperation, as well.

If you were serious about robbing a bank, I would think you would at least make an effort to hide your face instead of smiling for the cameras. He might as well have placed his picture on Facebook and tagged himself.

And if he's from Everett, why come down here to rob a bank? On opening day?

He is my good friend, I can't believe he did such a task. My prayers are with him. I know he is very depressed and is in need of serious help.
