Bellevue City Hall Accessible Voting Center Opens

The accessible voting center at Bellevue City Hall is open, primarily to ensure that King County voters with disabilities can cast a private and independent ballot.

The accessible voting center at Bellevue City Hall is open and available to voters, primarily to ensure that voters with disabilities can cast a private and independent ballot, according to King County Elections.

Other accessible voting centers include Green River Community College, North Seattle Community College and Seattle Union Station, as well as election headquarters in Renton where the facility has been recently expanded.

These locations are open to all voters, but are primarily for voters with disabilities who have trouble filling out the ballots mailed to their homes. Ballot drop boxes are also located at accessible voting centers for voters to securely return their mail ballot without the cost of postage.

Voters casting a ballot at an accessible voting center must either show a photo ID or sign a declaration. The signature on the declaration must match the signature in the voter registration record, according to the county.

The Bellevue City Hall accessible voting center will be open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Monday. On Tuesday, Nov. 6, Election Day, the hours will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Elections headquarters phone bank is also open Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Voters may call 206-296-VOTE (8683) for assistance, according to the county.

The state primarily votes by mail, but some voters have difficulty filling out mail ballots.

At the accessible voting centers, voters may cast a ballot privately and independently on touchscreen accessible voting units, according to the county. The machines also offer specialized equipment such as audio and large and high-contrast text options, according to the county.

Accessible voting units are easy to use, and Elections staff are available to help voters.

Ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 6 or returned to a drop-box or Accessible Voting Center by 8 p.m. Nov. 6.

For more information, visit the Elections website, or call 206-296-VOTE (8683).

Bellevue City Hall is at 450 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue, WA.
