King County is partnering with the City of Sammamish to consolidate the Sheriff’s Eastside precincts into a new facility in Sammamish City Hall, increasing patrol time on the streets and saving $400,000 a year. The move allows the Sheriff’s Office to improve service, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. For example, the Sheriff’s Office can share holding cells and booking areas with the Sammamish Police Department, reducing overhead for both agencies. With the consolidation and other technology improvements, Sheriff’s deputies will be able to do more work in the field, increasing the amount of time they spend on patrol.

The speakers will include:

o   King County Executive Dow Constantine
o   King County Sheriff Steven Strachan
o   City of Sammamish Mayor Tom Odell
o   King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert
o   City of Sammamish City Manager Ben Yazici
