Gov. Gregoire's SUV Sideswiped Monday In Non-Injury Collision On I-5
Neither the Governor nor the other driver was injured in the collision.
One of Gov. Chris Gregoire’s official vehicles - a black SUV - was sideswiped by another car as she returned to Olympia from an Seattle-area event on Monday, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Neither the governor nor the other driver was injured in the collision, which occurred on Interstate 5 near state Route 516 in Des Moines at about 2 p.m.
The governor was accompanied by a security detail from the State Patrol, as is official protocol. Other troopers responded to the scene to investigate the collision. Gregorie has since returned to Olympia. Troopers transport the governor in a variety of vehicles. On Monday, she was traveling in a Suburban, officials said.
