Government Notes: Sammamish & Issaquah June 25-June 29

Dr. Traci Pierce to be sworn in as LWSD superintendent tonight, Issaquah Council of the Whole and Planning Policy Commission meetings cancelled this week.

Here's what's coming up in local government and school boards this week:

Sammamish

The Lake Washington School Board meets tonight, June 25, with a study session beginning at 5:30 p.m. and its regular meeting beginning at 7 p.m. On the agenda are the swearing in of Dr. Traci Pierce, the district's new superintendent, and a first reading of the school district's budget. Meetings are held at the L.E. Scarr Resource Center, located at 16250 NE 74th Street, Redmond.

The meets tonight, June 25, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Sammamish City Hall.

meets Thursday, June 28, from 6-8:30 p.m., and the agenda includes a presentation and staff recommendations on erosion guidelines related to the Environmentally Critical Areas update process.

The city of Sammamish has published the results of an economic development self assessment it conducted earlier this year under the guidance of the Dukakis Center staff at Boston's Northeastern University. The final EDSAT Report can be read on the city's website.

Issaquah

New Waste Collection Services start Monday: Starting July 2, all Issaquah residents currently served by Waste Management (anyone outside of South Cove and Greenwood Pointe) Thanks to this switch, customers can now request new bear-resistant carts. More details on the service changes are also available online at the city's website.
