King County Certifies Primary Election Results

Sammamish City Council candidates Ramiro Valderrama and Jim Wasnick will face one another in the November general election.

King County has certified the results of the Aug. 16 primary election, and the final tally for Sammamish City Council Position No. 4 shows Ramiro Valderrama with 46 percent of the vote. He received 2,939 votes.

Jim Wasnick collected 28.1 percent of the vote, or 1,791 ballots. John Galvin earned 24.8 of the vote. In terms of actual votes, that number was 1,584.

Valderrama and Wasnick will face each other in the November general election.

Voter turnout for this Sammamish race was 25.2 percent or 6,875 ballots cast out of a total of 27,268. Total voter turnout from King County was 338,255—30.9 percent of registered voters.

The King County has also be officially approved by voters with 69 percent voting yes on the measure.
