King County Sees High Last Day Ballot Returns

Second-day King County results will be delayed until 6:30 p.m. due to the high volume of ballots being processed, officials say.

Last night, a steady stream of voters walked up the ballot drop box in Issaquah through the evening, and workers there said the scene had been similar all day.

Apparently, Issaquah wasn't the only place with high last day and mail-in returns on election day.

By yesterday, 62.76 percent of King County ballots had been returned and verified, but many remained to be counted, so many that results today, Nov. 7, are delayed until about 6:30 p.m., elections officials said. Normally updates are released around 4:30 most afternoons until the results are certified later this month.
