President Barack Obama swooped in on his helicopter Marine One Friday to a field at Kirkland's Northwest University, flying from Everett's Paine Field, before boarding a motorcade bound for two fundraisers in Bellevue.

Hundreds of Houghton-area residents lined 53rd Street along the university, watching as several government helicopters landed, and then cheering as the motorcade passed, led by dozens of motorcycle police and followed by dark SUVs full of heavily armed Secret Service agents.

Meanwhile, crowds have gathered outside the Westin Bellevue, where people are sporting a wide array of political views.
