Reichert Backs Romney, McKenna Stays Neutral in Upcoming GOP Caucus

Congressman Rep. Dave Reichert (R-WA8) will back presidential candidate Mitt Romney in the upcoming Washington state caucus. State Attorney General Rob McKenna, a Bellevue resident and gubernatorial candidate, is staying neutral.

The 8th District congressman U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert (R-WA8) endorsed Mitt Romney in the, which will be held on Saturday.

Political blog The State Column reported that Reichert's endorsement comes as Romney fights a tough Super Tuesday battle in his home state of Michigan and as rival presidential hopeful Rick Santorum, an ex-Senator from Pennsylvania, leads Romney in Washington state polls.

Reichert, who represents the 8th Congressional District, plans to move his offices to Issaquah to reflect the redistricting that will move his district farther east after this fall's elections.

On the other hand, Rob McKenna, the state Attorney General, Republican  and Bellevue resident, won't back any candidate in the upcoming caucus, the Seattle Times reported his spokesman as saying.
