Rep. Dave Reichert: Government Shutdown Not in The Best Interest of the American People

The following press statement was posted on Congressman Reichert's website on the Government Shutdown.
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Dave Reichert issued the following statement after a Government shutdown was not averted:
“I am disappointed that the Senate and the House could not come to a reasonable compromise tonight. A government shutdown is not in the best interest of the American people, whom we have promised to serve. But, I will not give up fighting for them. It is my hope that the Senate will quickly appoint conferees so that we can come to a bipartisan agreement to fund our government. I will do everything within my power to find a solution to this problem, to get our government reopened so that it can fulfill its duties to the utmost benefit of this great nation.”
