Rock Blasting to Close Snoqualmie Pass Four Nights This Week

WSDOT says drivers should plan for 2 or more hours Tuesday and Wednesday.

Drivers need to be prepared for nightly closures on Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass next week for rock blasting, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Extended closures planned on Tuesday and Wednesday and one hour closures planned for Monday and Thursday.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews plan to close I-90 in both directions for an hour from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, July 29 and Thursday, Aug. 1. The pass will be closed eastbound at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound at Price Creek (milepost 61).

The closures planned for Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday, July 31 are expected to last two or more hours. Crews will close the pass at 7:30 p.m. eastbound at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound at Price Creek (milepost 61) and Easton (71). A reopening time depends on the amount of debris that comes down and repairs needed to the highway. Drivers need to plan for two or more hours of added travel time.

Drivers are encouraged to use exits to access facilities before getting to the closure points.

Drivers will also experience delays due to multiple construction zones from North Bend to Ellensburg Monday through Friday.
