Update: Duthie Hill Road Scheduled to Open Tuesday, Nov. 20

Reopening of the Patterson Creek Bridge was delayed due to rain slowing down final paving and striping.

That darn November rain has slowed the reopening of the Patterson Creek Bridge on Duthie Hill Road.

The bridge, which has been closed for replacement since August, but King County has announced that the opening is pushed back to tomorrow, issuing this statement:

Thank you all for your patience and support during the construction of the new Patterson Creek Bridge on Duthie Hill Road near State Route 202. We’ve been fortunate that the weather has been relatively cooperative this fall season and the construction work progressed close to the planned schedule. However, the rain this week has slowed down final paving and striping. We are anticipating that all work will be completed and the roadway opened to the public the afternoon of Tuesday, November 20th after Washington State Department of Transportation completes a test run of their new signal system in the morning. We will be sure to send out an update if this schedule changes.

Despite heavy rains, the road is still on track to open later in the day on Tuesday, King County said. Paving and temporary striping are in place. Part of reopening is WSDOT checking the signal at 202.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
