Issaquah School District

As of Sunday evening, from the Issaquah School District: We had quite a storm last week! Sympathies go out to households that are still without power. Just like with individual residences, many of our schools were left in the dark and covered in debris. Our facilities and transportation crews have been working throughout the weekend checking/fixing the conditions of buildings and roadways, and the good news is that we will be open for school and ready for students tomorrow. Just within the past hour, Puget Sound Energy confirmed that all schools have power, and we double checked to ensure that all systems are up and running. A handful of neighborhoods may still have roadway access issues through tomorrow morning, and transportation personnel will contact those individual households before their routes begin if there is a change in pick up location. So unless you hear otherwise, have your students report to their bus stops or schools at the normally scheduled time tomorrow.    Please also note that we are working to get the District website back up after the servers went down without power. It should be operational soon.   Again, thank you for your patience and for pulling together as a community last week to ensure neighbors' safety and comfort during the storm.
See you tomorrow!

Notes from the district:

  • Athletic events for this weekend have been canceled, including the middle-school wrestling tournament and all high school events. This is the policy of neighboring districts in the league when school is canceled on Friday and athletes have not been able to practice beforehand. Also, emergency conditions still exist throughout western Washington, and we have not been able to guarantee safety of transportation or power/warmth in facilities. Your schools will let you know about make-up dates when they are available.
  • The school board work-study session/retreat scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20-21, at the Administration Building has been canceled, as the building was still without power Friday afternoon.
  • Again, high-school finals have been pushed back, with Monday a review day at Issaquah High and Skyline. The finals half-days will fall on Tuesday and Thursday. Because school websites are down, here is information for Liberty students to prepare: periods 3 and 4 will test on Monday, 7 and 8 will test on Tuesday, 1 and 2 will test on Wednesday, and 5 and 6 will test on Thursday.

The district says, "Thank you for your patience this week! Hopefully the sledding has been plentiful in your family."
