Beaver Lake Middle School Principal Moving to Liberty High School

Almy is the second Issaquah School District Principal to announce a change in recent weeks.

Joshua Almy announced to families last week that he has accepted a position as principal of Liberty High School, also in the Issaquah School District. Superintendent Dr. Steve Rasmussen sent a followup inviting parents to participate in an online survey, and saying he hopes to announce a new principal for the next school year by the end of this one.

Following is the letter Almy sent to families in the school Friday:

How can someone feel excited and sad at the same time? As I write this, right now is one of those times. I have accepted a new position in the Issaquah School District starting July 1st and will be the new principal at Liberty High School. The last 8 years that I have served as principal at Beaver Lake have been by far the most rewarding and enjoyable professional experiences of my life. Thank you to the Beaver Lake community, from the bottom of my heart, for being the most amazing and supportive group of parents a principal could ever ask for. Between this year’s 6th grade class and a group of kids who are finishing up their junior year in college, the memories with all of these kids, your kids, I will carry with me forever. Dr. Rasmussen will be notifying you all about the process for finding my replacement and I am more than confident you will be in great hands with whoever that individual will be. I am looking forward to a great remainder of the school year and will soak up every last drop of the Beaver Lake experience. Thanks for everything parents, this community is truly first class and one of a kind. With that, have a great three day weekend, and Go Bulldogs!
