Updated: Deagle, Weaver Lead in Issaquah School Board Race

Brian Deagle and Suzanne Weaver both have sizable leads over their opponents.

In the race for Issaquah School Board Director of District No. 3 Brian Deagle leads Patrick Sansing with 7,503 votes (64.87 percent), to Sansing's 4,027 votes (34.81 percent).

In the race for Issaquah School Board Director of District No. 5 Suzanne Weaver leads Brian Neville with 7,541 votes (64.11 percent), to Neville's 4,188 votes (35.61 percent).

"Obviously I'm pleased," Weaver said.

Weaver is also pleased to see that Brain Deagle is leading his race, giving the two a chance to continue their efforts on the board together.

"The school board is a good team as it is now," Weaver said. "I'm excited to have another four years to do our work."

According to King County, these figures represent 15,609 ballots cast out of 58,258 registered voters in the district, approximately 26 percent. The county projected turnout of 52 percent.

Ballots are continuing to be counted and King County will release updated results tomorrow at 4:30 pm.
