Eastide Catholic's Chevy Walker Signs With Portland State

The following information was provided by Eastside Catholic School:

Senior Chevy Walker signed his letter of intent on February 1, National Signing Day, to attend Portland State University and play NCAA football this fall. He signed among the support of immediate and extended family, teammates, classmates, faculty and staff. Fr. William Heric started it off with a prayer, followed by Coach Jeremy Thielbahr, then Chevy said a few words with tears welling to thank his family for teaching him life lessons.

Chevy credits Eastside Catholic with his leadership growth. He stepped up sophomore year to rally the team when there was a shift in coaching. His junior year he stepped up again, but with a more laid-back style, wanting to hear what the underclassmen were expecting. "We will miss his leadership and athleticism," remarked Coach Thielbahr, "but EC has prepared him. Chevy has unlimited potential."
