Eastlake Wolves to Band Together in Spirit Display Wednesday

Following the deaths in the last two weeks of two alumni and beloved School Resource Officer Stan Chapin, a display of solidarity is planned for Feb. 15.

More than 1,000 Eastlake High School alumni and supporters plan to wear school colors or spirit gear Wednesday, Feb. 15 as a show of support to each other and to honor three recently deceased members of the school community.

An event was created on Facebook as a way for people to show their support and to remember the three: Timothy S. Williamson, a 21-year-old Eastlake graduate Feb. 4; Claire Thompson, a 20-year-old 2010 Eastlake graduate ; and 61-year-old King County Sheriffs Deputy Stan Chapin, .

The sad events have left the school community reeling, community members said. On the Facebook event page, the creator, Claire Jones, said this:

Hi friends,

Eastlake and Sammamish have been hit very hard these past couple of weeks with the untimely and heart wrenching deaths of Officer Stan Chapin, Tim Williamson and Claire Thompson.

I wish we could all be together for this, but I realize we're all busy with our own lives and schools and families and careers. I was thinking that we could all wear Eastlake colors or spirit gear (it's been awhile since I've been able to say that one...) on Wednesday. A sort of solidarity if you will.

We may not be close anymore, we may not have been close ever or even known each other at all, but we've all got Eastlake in common. Eastlake or Sammamish may have mixed emotions and memories for you, but it's important to remember where we came from.

We'll get through this together.

Please invite all of your friends.

I love you and please take care of yourself and each other.
