Eastside Catholic Athletes Earn Honors

Several Eastside Catholic athletes recently received state and national honors.

Standout Eastside Catholic boys basketball player Joey Schreiber was recently nominated to the 2012 McDonald's All American High School Basketball Team.

Schreiber, a senior, was one of 600 athletes from around the country nominated for selection to the team. The 48-player roster will be announced in early February.

From the soccer pitch, KK Standish and Nemo Thomas were selected for First Team All State by the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association. The selctions were a first for Eastside Catholic's girls soccer team.

Eastside Catholic Athletic Director Scott Garvis was very happy to see his athletes honored.

"They're all great kids," Garvis said. "They're truly the epitome of scholar athletes."

Garvis said the honors reflects well on the entire program at Eastside Catholic.

"It speaks well of our coaches and parents and the whole Eastside Catholic community," Garvis said.
