The name Islam has its roots in the Arabic word Salaam which means “peace” or “submission”, yet some will identify this religion with violence and terrorism. With over 1.3 billion people of the world being Muslims, this religion remains an enigma to most of the western civilization.
In his presentation, Rahim Nasserziayee will present an overview of Islam. Included is a demonstration of Islamic prayers with the English translation. Rahim Nasserziayee was born in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1941. He is a retired registered professional civil/hydraulics engineer, educated in Afghanistan, Iran, India, Unites States and The Netherlands. He has lived
in the United States from 1965-1967 and from 1974 to the present.
