Sammamish Football Note: A Quick Look at High School Squads

One of the big games on Friday night will be Skyline High School taking on Bellevue High School.

Football: The Spartans played a tale of two halves in their season opener against Liberty on Friday night. Skyline trailed 21-14 in the second quarter, before scoring 48 straight points to run away with a 62-27 victory. Quarterback Max Browne got off to a strong start, completing 16 of 18 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns. Nate Gibson also threw two touchdowns for Skyline, which avenged last years’ season opening loss to Liberty in impressive fashion.

Next up for Skyline is a juggernaut  team. The Wolverines are fresh off an upset 31-21 victory over Oaks Christian of California last Saturday. Bellevue is now ranked 15th in the nation by USA Today and will be looking to get some revenge for Skyline’s 28-21 victory in 2010. That game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. on Sept. 9 at The Coliseum at Skyline High School in Sammamish.
