Girls Lacrosse: Eastside Catholic Topple Roosevelt

Eastside Catholic (1-2-1) next faces Forest Ridge (3-2-0) in a 4 p.m. matchup, Tuesday, April 9 at Robinswood Park.

Valerie Vachris scored a game-high eight goals as Eastside Catholic earned its first girls lacrosse win of the season, Wednesday in a 19-3 win over Roosevelt at Lower Woodland Park.

Adrienne Leonard, Nicole Larson and Taylor Klein each scored once for the Rough Riders and goalkeeper Alex Vargas recorded six saves.

Goalkeeper Justice Gilbert recorded a game-high seven saves on the day, helping the Crusaders dominate the first half by a score of 11-2.

The second half would be much of the same as Roosevelt only scored once compared to the Crusaders’ eight.

Eastside Catholic (1-2-1) next faces Forest Ridge (3-2-0) in a 4 p.m. matchup, Tuesday, April 9 at Robinswood Park. Roosevelt (1-5-0) next faces Nathan Hale (2-2-0) in a 4 p.m. matchup, Friday, March 29 at Lower Summit East.
