Washington Scholar

For the Washington Scholars program, each school looks within this group of their top 5%, and then nominates candidates in the top one percent of their seniors, based on criteria set by the Higher Education Coordinating Board.  Nominated students must lead their class in academic achievement, community service and student leadership.  Three Washington Scholars and one alternate are then chosen from this group for each legislative district in Washington State.  Kimberly Bussing was chosen as a Washington Scholar for Legislative District 5.

National Merit Finalists & Scholars

Each year, Juniors all over the country take the PSAT which, in addition to preparing students for the SAT, is the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Nationwide, only 1% of all Juniors who take the test reach the status of National Merit Finalists.  This year, three of our juniors reached that status.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
